Earth Day in Aruba 🌎, Best of Azores + 15-Min Mango Pie 🥭

Hello from Canada, where we’re enjoying spring sunshine and the natural air-conditioning of 11°C (50°F), but missing the spectacle of Semana Santa and mango season in Guatemala.

Right now, our 30-foot mango tree in Guatemala is in overdrive, dropping so much sweet, ripe fruit 🥭 that our family’s busy simmering vats of mango compote and hauling the extras by wheelbarrow to the corral. It seems cows love mangoes as much as we do!

So, if you spot mangoes at your local supermarket, now’s the perfect time to try one of our favourite mango recipes, starting with crowd-pleasing No-Bake Mango Pie.

This issue also brings Earth Day 🌎 inspiration from an eco-trailblazer in Aruba, plus our hand-crafted itinerary to São Miguel, an island in the Azores that blew us away with its natural beauty, regional food, and incredible value.

And, as always, the latest culinary and sun destination travel news! Let’s dive in!

Travel Tips and Planning

Every Day is Earth Day at Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort Aruba

Looking for an eco-luxury Caribbean escape? Meet Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort in Aruba, the region’s first and only certified carbon-neutral hotel.

Our Contributing Editor Sue Campbell first featured owner Ewald Biemans 25 years ago for his sea turtle conservation work and today this adults-only boutique resort on Eagle Beach is on track to be fully Net Zero.

Guests can join beach cleanups, help reforest the new 32-acre nature preserve, or plan a low-impact itinerary with the resort’s personal sustainability concierge.

With award-winning green initiatives, vegan food and community spirit, this is the kind of Earth Day travel we can all feel good about.
